Battlers Bow Out, But Not Without a Fight: Kalkaska’s Season Ends Against Toledo

Kalkaska, MI — April 13, 2025

The Kalkaska Battlers' playoff run came to an end this weekend after two gritty showdowns against the Toledo Mobsters. Though the final scores read 10-6 on Saturday and 9-5 on Sunday, they don’t paint the full picture of the heart, hustle, and determination shown by the Battlers.

Short-benched due to injuries, the team faced adversity head-on and refused to back down. With limited bodies but unlimited heart, the Battlers brought intensity, passion, and pride to every shift.

“This team never quit—no matter the odds, no matter the numbers,” said team owner Andrew Dibble. “Grit isn’t about winning every game. It’s about showing up, battling for your brothers, and leaving it all on the ice. And that’s exactly what these guys did.”

As the curtain closes on the 2024-25 campaign, the organization is already gearing up for what’s next.
